A birth plan is a systematic record of your preferences for labour and delivery . It is made in accordance to your unique case and is individualised as per your medical , surgical history and in keeping with your cultural ,social circumstances and your wishes . This also comes in handy if you come in an emergency as the staff can go through the document and administer the care to you faster.
Yes we have birthing pool in our delivery suite !
This will depend on what kind of a birth you have had to put it simply you need to be in hospital for atleast 24 hours after a normal birth and around 48 hours after a c-section.
We have various options for rooms and depending on which room you opt for the attendants can be with you .we currently have twin sharing, single occupancy and suite rooms available.
A doula is a birth assistant who is trained to assist and support you to go ahead with a normal vaginal birth . As per studies , presence of a doula at birth increases the chance of normal vaginal birth and reduces the chances of interventions . This also has shown to reduce the need to provide analgesia (pain relief ).
A normal birth is called normal if the labour pains have started spontaneously at or after term (37 weeks ), have continued to go on till delivery of the baby head first (vertex) with no tear of the perineum . It may not be possible to achiev all this in every delivery . however our aim is to aid natural birth and stick to minimum intervention at all times. While this is the case , some conditions such as a contracted pelvis , placenta praevia , severe high blood pressure , cardiac problems and some others are absolute contraindications to having a vaginal birth and we wouyld advice you if such is the case in advance . Apart from this sometimes , during normal labour , there may be emergencies such as baby ‘s heart beat slowing down etc where in order to ensure well being of mother and baby we may need to convert to a c –section in best interest of the patients . these however would be discussed and joint decision taken by patient and doctor. .
We have a fully functional operating room with trained staff , laboratory facility , ICU and expert doctors on panel to take care of any emergency for mother or baby.
There are plenty of options for pain relief that we may offer to you which may range from simple injectables to epidurals .we also offer water birthning , music therapy , medicine balls as alternative forms of pain controlOur philosoph at VIWH , is that of promoting and encouraging normal vaginal births and pride ourselves in having a warm , supportive and encouraging team dedicated to provide the correct environment ,experts and monitoring to allow the woman to labour naturally .At the same time we are there to stand by and monitor the progress and would not hesitate to intervene should there be some factor risking the wellbeing of the mother or baby . We aim that at the end of the SAFE labour process there is a healthy and happy mother and baby !!

We have on our panel urologists , hepatobiliary surgeons , gastrosurgeons and others .to support us in emergencies and critical times.
We have a well qualified and experienced paediatricin who covers all our births , natural and c sections . we also have on call one of the most experienced neonatologists to cover preterm births and NICU care . In cases where the newborn requires a surgery soon after birth , we also have on panel an experienced paediatric surgeon .
We provide the most warm and sensitive post partum care that allows the lady to recover at her own pace while we are there to support her recovery . We have breast and lactation clinics /nurses , immunisation for mother and baby clinics ,physiotherapy care , dietician referral ,mental health post delivery clinic and sexual health clinic to take care of all the aspects of your recovery . we also have post natal classes where information is provided for exvcercises , sexual well being ,child nitrition among others .

Dr mitali Vasavada holds Indian and British post graduate qualifications in obstetrics and gynecology . she has attended and cleard the ALSO (advanced life support in obstetrics )and can manage successfully a variety of emergencies and complications in pregnancy and labour . She is licensed by MCI and MMC and also is registered by GMC (general medical council )UK . She has diploma in advanced gynec laproscopy , is a member of BSGE and BSCCP .

We pride ourselves in providing a state of the art delivery suite ,complete with medicine balls ,bean bags and a pool for hydro birthing.
We run child birth preparation classes at our center and also have attachment with ......... as our official child birth education partner . We include sessions on problems of early pregnancy , how to cruise through the second trimester , trouble shoot the last leg of pregnancy , what to expect at delivery , postnatal well being sessions in some of our packages for delivery . however , these can be vought separately as well . We also have a physiotherapist , dietician , mental and sexual health counsellor for one to one and group sessions .
We recommend routine blood and urine tests for most pregnant women along with ultrasound as per need and recommendation . Our philosophy is to do tests only as required and we do not believe in unnecessary tests and investigations that do not add value to patient care .
We advocate supported births by doulas and trained birth assistants which are provided at out delivery suite.
We advocate light snacking and hydration throughout labour so as to provide energy to the lady . We also support walking about in the room , using the birthing pool , medicine ball and other measures as non medical intervantions to reduce perception of pain.
Yes ! you will be seen soon after birth , two hours after birth and then at discharge.

We have a lactation nurse to help you with breast feeding issues and we run a clinic for the same.
Yes we do offer this service at a special cost and as inclusive in certain packages . do enquire about this at the time of the birth plan charting !
We recommend c- section deliveries for primi(first time mothrs )with breech babies and also twins when the firts baby is with breech presentation (buttocks first ). This is as per recommendations of the major womens health organisations in the world . Plan for subsequent (second onwards )breech births and twins with vertex (head first )presentation defer from case to case .
We have strict criteria for allowing vaginal birth after one previous c section . these include indication for the surgery , and recurring factors that need repeat c section ,any other factors affecting baby and mother in current pregnancy . However , VBAC is niot ruled out and can be offered to right candidate after due consenting .
Yes we have tie ups with major insurance companies . We are also empanelled by many corporate and public sector organisations . you can request a list of these.
